TYC Youth open day

The open days are an opportunity for the youth (and their parents) from Hartbeespoort and surrounding areas to visit TYC and be introduced to sailing.
People who are interested are welcome to visit to TYC at any time during the following hours: Friday, 17 June 10:00 to 17:00 and Saturday, 18 June 10:00 to 17:00.
The annual Youth Keelboat Interclub Championship will also take place over this weekend. Teams of youth sailors from yacht clubs all over the country will compete against each other. This year teams from the Vaal Dam, Durban, Knysna and Port Elizabeth have entered.
The Sailing Centre will have its fleet of dinghies on display and the coaches will be doing sailing demonstrations. They will be on hand to answer any questions children or parents may have on sailing and explain how easy it is to join the Youth Sailing Training Programme.
The Youth Sailing Training Programme is held every five weeks under the auspices of TYC’s Sailing Centre. Training is conducted by group of volunteer coaches and assistant coaches who have all undergone specialist training. The club’s canteen will be open and hamburgers, hotdogs, etc. will be on sale. Braai facilities will also be available for families to enjoy their own food.
