Police members in Hartbeespoort, Brits and Mooinooi have scooped coveted awards during the police’s provincial service excellence awards ceremony at Sun City last week.
The Brits Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual offences unit (FCS), Hartbeespoort police, Mooinooi police and Brits communications department all walked away with service excellence awards. The Brits FCS received the award for their remarkable work from April 2018 to March 2019 during which 25 rapists were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. “The most outstanding conviction for the unit is the eight life sentences imposed on a serial rapist whose victims were minors.
