Another case of Covid-19 has been confirmed in Hartbeespoort by the North West Department of Health.
The young woman presented with cold symptoms and was tested for Covid-19. She is in self isolation and people she had been in contact with, are being traced.
According to information the woman visited a doctor in Melodie. The Hartbeespoort Medical Centre would not confirm the case but told Kormorant that “an investigation is being conducted”.
This is the first case reported since April. The health department announced on 2 May that up to the end of April, seven cases in the Hartbeespoort area had been confirmed.
Another Covid-19 case was also confirmed in Brits on Tuesday. The Madibeng municipal area has recorded a total of 15 cases.
On Thursday, 28 May, North West had a total of 134 cases, of which 45 had recovered. So far only one Covid-19 death has been reported.
