A motorist died after his car plunged into the Hartbeespoort Dam on Tuesday afternoon.
According to information on the scene, a passerby saw the vehicle in the water shortly after 12:00 between the Snake Park and the tunnel. The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) and the police were alerted and members of the NSRI rushed to the scene.
The man’s body was found in the submerged vehicle and was extracted and brought to the surface by NSRI members. No further information is available at this stage.
Police are still on the scene.
