Hartbeespoort police station closed after police members test positive

The Hartbeespoort police station was closed on Saturday, 11 July, after several police members at the station tested positive for Covid-19.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) issued a statement on Saturday, advising the communities around Hartbeespoort of the police station’s closure “due to one of its members having tested positive for the Covid-19”.

However, the police confirmed on Sunday that “several members were infected.”

The Community Service Centre will be operating from the station’s boardroom while the police station building is being decontaminated and police members who have come in contact with the infected members, are screened and tested. “The community will be informed when the station will be operational again,” the police said.
The Hartbeespoort police can currently be contacted on 060 987 5533.
