One of the most wanted criminals in Hartbeespoort was arrested on Friday, 14 August, and he was linked to 11 cases of housebreaking and car theft over the past 15 years.
Mutemba Aniceto Patricio (46) appeared in the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 17 August 2020, on five charges of burglary and six of car theft.
Patricio was arrested in Schoemansville by members of the Hartbeespoort police after they received a tip-off from community members.
“The accused has since been positively linked through fingerprints with cases of residential burglaries and theft of motor vehicles which were committed between 2005 and 2009 in and around Hartbeespoort,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani.
He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Monday, 31 August 2020 for formal bail application. The investigation continues.
