Police tackle gender-based violence campaign during Women’s Month

Crimes against women are rampant in many communities and this has prompted police in the Brits areas to conduct awareness campaigns in various areas to sensitise women and children about the issue and encourage them to report abuse, and also to offer them assistance and protection.

An awareness campaign was led by Letlhabile Vispol Commander,Capt Mpolokeng,Bojanala Sub District 1 Communication officer, SAC Nkabinde and members of Crime Prevention as well as Klipgat POP at the Letlhabile and Maboloka post offices,where a large number of social grant beneficiaries converged. “Women from various walks of life were sensitised on the importance of breaking the silence in order to stop the vicious cycle of abuse. They were encouraged to report any kind of abuse they might be subjected to before it ends in tragic circumstances,” police spokesperson, Maria Nkabinde said.
