Two men, aged 23 and 30, were arrested on Thursday for murdering a woman outside a SASSA office in Hebron near Brits in June.
The two suspects were arrested in Soshanguve during a provincial ‘Suspect Raiding’ operation on Thursday, 20 August 2020.
The 38-year-old Elizabeth Kgope was brutally murdered by the two men when she visited the SASSA office in Hebron to register her one-month-old baby. “She was fatally stabbed by two unknown male suspects just after she got off a taxi on 17 June 2020. The suspects fled the scene with her handbag,” said police spokesperson, Colonel Amanda Funani. “After a thorough investigation, the suspects were successfully traced and arrested in Soshanguve during the operation.”
