Watch – Security and police make quick work of EFF protestors at Click in Hartbeespoort

Village Mall security and the Hartbeespoort police quickly dispersed a group of EFF-supporters who vandalised the Clicks store’s windows in Village Mall early on Monday following a call by the EFF to forcibly shut down the chain stores all over the country.

This follows an outcry about an alleged ‘racist’ advertisement by a hair care company on the Clicks website.
About 12 EFF supporters arrived at Village Mall shortly before 09:00 and sprayed “racism must fall’ and ‘close’ on the store’s windows. Village Mall security personnel and the police acted swiftly and the group was forced to leave.
An advertisement by the popular TRESemme hair product company, which portrayed black natural hair as ‘dry, damaged, and frizzy’, while a photo of white natural hair was described as ‘normal’, was displayed on the Clicks group’s official website, leading to the EFF calling for a nationwide shut-down of all the Clicks stores.

At Brits Mall a large police presence also dispersed about 20 EFF supporters shortly after they sprayed ‘closed’ on the Clicks store’s windows. The store will also remain closed today. Both malls are safe to visit.
