Covid-19 update: Confirmed number of cases in SA now at 650 749

The number of recoveries from Covid-19 in South Africa currently stands at 579 289.

As of yesterday, 14 September, a total number of 650 749 confirmed Covid-19 cases in South Africa have been recorded with 956 new cases identified. The total number of tests conducted to date is 3 928 614 with 10 136 new tests conducted since the last report.

The Department of Health (DoH) reports 52 new Covid-19 related deaths:

  • 2 from KwaZulu-Natal
  • 3 from Gauteng
  • 4 from Eastern Cape
  • 7 Western Cape
  • 15 from North West
  • 21 from the Free State

This brings the total number of Covid-19 related deaths to 15 499.

The DoH conveys its condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanks the health care workers who treated the deceased.

The number of recoveries currently stands at 579 289.
