The police in the Brits police cluster have opened two inquest cases after two bodies were found in the Brits area last weekend.
“The body of a 27-year-old woman was found inside a toilet in Kleinfontein near Brits on Friday. A rope was tied around her neck,” said police spokesperson, maria Nkabinde.
“The police were notified of the body by community members. The woman was certified dead by paramedics on the scene. The police have opened an inquest to determine the cause of her death.
On Saturday morning the body of an unknown man was found floating in a canal at the Klipkop Dam near Brits.
“The body was retrieved by the South African Police diving unit. No visible injuries were found and the police are investigating an inquest case to determine the cause of the death.
