The Cambridge School hosted their annual Active Learning and Visible Thinking day last Friday during which parents are invited to join in a classroom lesson with their children.
For 30 minutes each parent works with their child in a lesson that is specifically designed to promote visible thinking and active learning. The lessons included directing robots, playing location games on chess boards, playing charades guessing games with parts of speech, resolving riddles and using “see – think – wonder” as a technique to observe closely.
As a proud thinking school and member of TSSA – Thinking Schools of South Africa, Mountain Cambridge School prides itself on bringing visible thinking into every lesson, using the Thinking Mind Maps, Habits of Mind and the DeBono Thinking Hats form an integral part of every day lessons. On Active Learning Day the parents get to witness and be part of the learning journey with their child.
