Imke Krige, a learner at Mountain Cambridge School, has won a second national public speaking competition in 2020.

Imke Krige

This talented orator was recently announced overall National Grade 9 winner of the prestigious “Podium Pret” public speaking competition. It was her second national title after winning the “Kansvatter” online competition earlier in the year. Imke also excelled at the “Radikale Redenaars”, “Interschools” and “Artistatue” national events where she was placed second in all the debating categories she participated in.

Seen as an important building block for learners to develop communications skills and self-confidence, public speaking forums have grown in popularity and annually attracts thousands of leaners from all the major schools across the country. The various regional and provincial competitions requires speakers to maintain a very high debating standard to qualify for participation in the national rounds. Fortunately for learners and parents in Hartbeespoort and surrounds, some of the best public speaking tutors in the country are available to provide training to learners who have an interest in public speaking and other cultural activities. Imke is tutored by Pauli van Niekerk.
