A grocery truck, carrying food, was hijacked by armed men on the Lanseria road on Wednesday morning.
“The driver of the truck had stopped along the road around 06:00 and a vehicle with a number of suspects stopped in front of them, got out and came towards the driver and his crew member, pointing a firearm at them,” said Romano van der Spuy, spokesperson for the Hartbeespoort community policing forum.
The driver and his colleague were forced into the robbers’ vehicle and were later dropped off in Muldersdrift. The robbers fled with the truck.
The Hartbeespoort police are investigating a hijacking case and no arrests have been made.
