Neighbourhood watch tackles potholes

The Ifafi/Melodie neighbourhood watch, with the help of sponsors, got together last weekend and tackled potholes and the neglected road verges in the area.

The group fixed the large pothole at the circle near the medical centre, cut the long grass and cleared and painted the circle. “We want to thank everyone who assisted us. Jannie Garden Services cut the grass, PWV Security donated tar and other material, and Blue Bin Skip Hire provided us with a skip. Thank you to all who assisted us in keeping the area safe,” said Marius de Villiers, chairman of the neighbourhood watch.

The Ifafi/Melodie neighbourhood watch launched a project recently to address the neglected neighbourhood. They rely on donations from businesses and individuals to support the project. Residents volunteer their services to do the work. The team would like to tackle the rest of the potholes in the area but need funds to buy tar and other materials. Donations can be paid into the neighbourhood watch bank account: Standardbank Hartbeespoort
account number 015060667.
