Seven cars have been stolen in Hartbeespoort the past week and the Hartbeespoort community policing forum has expressed its concern over the new spate of car thefts.
A Toyota Etios was stolen in Harrington Street in Schoemansville on Tuesday, 30 March, and a Toyota Yaris at Sediba Plaza on Wednesday, 31 March. Over the Easter weekend, five cars were stolen. A Mercedes was stolen at Damdoryn, a GWM bakkie at Village Mall, a GWM bakkie in Scott Street, a Nissan NP200 at an animal park on the Lanseria road, and a Toyota RunX at a boat venue in Kosmos.
Motorists are advised to be vigilant and if possible, park in areas where security and car guards are on duty.
Make sure your car is locked to avoid being caught by thieves with remote jammers.
Do not leave any valuables in the car.
