A Hartbeespoort resident this week baked and delivered cupcakes of hope to frontline workers all over Hartbeespoort.
Bernadette Louw and her husband, Jaco, spent many hours baking, icing and delivering almost 200 cupcakes to various frontline workers such as doctors, pharmacists, the police and shop assistants at supermarkets in the area.
“I was sitting at home one day last week thinking that we are all praying for these people on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic, daily putting their lives in danger to serve the community. The doctors who see sick patients, the pharmacists and shop assistants at tills, the police… maybe it was time that we pay it forward and give them some hope,” she said.
Pick n Pay Village Mall offered to sponsor the ingredients and the Heartlands Church in Ifafi sponsored the fuel for the deliveries.
“These people also need hope and we need to thank them. I hope this is a message to all to pay it forward and bring some hope to the community.”
