Gallery@ButterflyBlu situated at French Toast opened its doors on Woman’s Day, with the theme Tribute to Women depicted in Elsabé’s art.

The cosy new art gallery aims to give local artists and up-and-coming artists the opportunity to showcase their artwork.

Hartbeespoort does not boast as many art galleries as in the past, and local artists are finding it harder to introduce their artwork to the public.

Gallery@ButterlyBlu would like to feature unknown, as well as established artists, and give them the opportunity to promote their work and develop their talent.

Elsabé’s current solo exhibition showcases more than 20 artworks. This includes paintings, pottery sculptures, a new genre she has branched into, as well as fabric art.

Elsabe is an accomplished artist with numerous solo exhibitions behind her name. She is also well-known as a wallpaper artist and restorer and her work is displayed in historical buildings such as the Melrose House, the Palace of Justice, the CJ Langenhoven House Arbeidsgenot in Oudtshoorn, and the Herbert Baker House Northwards in Parktown. She has also worked in the Presidency.

She is also an art teacher, high in demand in Hartbeespoort ,and regularly exhibits with her students.
The exhibition of her work can be seen until the end of August.
Gallery@ButterlyBlu is open from Monday to Sunday 09:00 – 16:00.
