Police educate learners about sexual abuse

Commemorating Women’s month, police in Assen last week visited the Sefatanare Primary School near Brits to eduate learners about sexual abuse.

The programme focused on senior phase girl learners. The event was a collaborative effort between Brits police district management led by the Deputy District Commissioner, Brigadier Johan Marx, Community Policing Forum (CPF) members from the district, and the Brits Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit. Learners were urged to report perpetrators to parents, teachers and the police. Learners received hand sanitisers and snacks, as well as crime prevention flyers.
