Police focus on domestic violence

Police in Brits set off on the 16 Days of Activism for no violence against women and children awareness campaign in Brits town this week.

The aim is to sensitise members of the community about this serious and prevalent issue and to urge them to break the silence on domestic violence, abuse, child neglect and rape. Brits Social Crime Prevention, Brits Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences(FCS) unit and stakeholders that included Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, National Prosecuting Authority(NPA), Department of Correctional Services, Nicro and Legal Aid Board formed part of the awareness campaign.
