Despite the announcement of approved plans and budget to rebuild the R104 (Necsa road) earlier this year, nothing has been done.
The road was temporarily made accessible by filling potholes in February but has deteriorated into a shocking state again.
Bojanalala Head of Roads, Johan van Wyk said at the time that plans had been approved to rebuild the road in the new financial year, starting April 2021. When approached this week, he said the project was hindered by Covid-19 when the professional team offices were closed for months due to positive cases. “At the time the tenders had already been advertised. The whole process will now have to start all over again.”
It seems no work will be done in the foreseeable future.
