Police want to create safer learning environment

Police from various policing precincts around Brits embarked on a school safety awareness campaign at Mothotlung Secondary School last week to sensitise learners about the dangers of drug abuse, and bullying which is currently rife in the learning environment and often results in fatalities.

Members of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) from various policing precincts formed part of the awareness campaign. In addition, the Department of Correctional Services, Social Development and Health, spiritual leaders and local councillors also joined forces with the police in an attempt to prevent learners from becoming involved in criminal activities, possession of dangerous weapons and teenage pregnancy.
