ATM bombers fled with a large amount of money after they bombed an automatic teller machine in De Wildt on Thursday morning.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Adele Myburgh, security guards at the De Wildt Shopping Complex were on patrol in the centre when they heard an explosion. “They immediately called for help. While waiting for backup to arrive, they saw two suspects fleeing the scene to the R566 Rosslyn Road and getting into three vehicles that were waiting.
Residents in the area reported hearing two explosions at the time of the bombing.
Myburgh said the suspects were still at large and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The Mmakau police are investigating the ATM bombing and anyone with informtion is requested to contact the Mmakau police.
