The Hartbeespoort/Brits community lost four women in one day to gruesome accidents on Tuesday night.

Andrea Engelbrecht (26)
Jamy Lee Ferreira (32)
Maxine Coutinho (35)
Ponatshego Modisane (29)

Well-known hair stylist Jamy Lee Ferreira (32) and colleague Andrea Engelbrecht (26) of the Tinted Hair & Nail Studio in Schoemansville died near Brits when the bakkie they were driving in collided with a tree. The two young women were on their way to Andrea’s home in Bokfontein when the vehicle left the road on the R511 and crashed into a tree. Andrea was killed on impact and Jamy Lee died in hospital the same night.
Around the same time, Maxine Coutinho (35), a mother of two children, aged two and eight, lost her life in a collision on the R513 in De Wildt. She was alone in the vehicle and five people in the other vehicle were injured.
Ponatshego Modisane (29) of Sunway, a mother of two children aged five and nine, was killed on Tuesday just after 18:00 when she attempted to cross Beethoven Road. She was hit by a car and the impact threw her in front of another vehicle. She died on the scene. Ponatshego was a well-known face in Village Mall where she worked in a popular clothing store.
Community members have been expressing their shock and condolences about the tragic loss of the four young women on Facebook since Tuesday.
