Tomato seller strangled and robbed man

“The man was returning from a shop around 20:15 and he stopped at a man who was selling tomatoes. The man wanted to look at the tomatoes in the light, and the vendor got into his car with him,” said Romano van der Spuy, spokesperson for the Hartbeespoort community policing forum.
“The motorist then paid for the  tomatoes and while he was waiting for the vendor to get his change, another man appeared from the bushes and got the motorist into a stranglehold, while the other man robbed him of R700 cash.”
The robbers fled, but were later arrested by the Hartbeespoort police. The motorist did not sustain serious injuries.
