Bella in the running for Mrs SA crown

The drop-dead-gorgeous Bella Edwards, who in a way resembles a modern-day Marilyn Monroe, spoke to Kormorant about the exciting journey she is currently on.

Bella is one of the Top 100 finalists in the running for the Mrs South Africa crown, chosen from thousands of woman who entered from across South Africa. On 28 April, the selected 100, will be thinned out to only 25 finalists. “It is an exciting time in my life,” Bella tells with great humility, but absolute confidence.

Currently very focused on women and children, Bella says that she has always wanted to do charity work, and this is a great opportunity to do that. Bella has a special interest in women and young girls in the sex industry.

“I am convinced that this is the industry I need to be in and to help in.” She would like to reach out and make a difference in the lives of prostitutes and young girls who work in the porn industry.

Well-travelled, Bella has lived in both the UK and India for periods

of time, but loves South Africa. This is home, the country she hopes to represent.

Bella says she always thought of getting married, having children and making a difference in the world. As she sits and strokes the hair of her six-month-old son, Cody, with her adoring husband by her side, the blonde-hair blue-eyed beauty says she is now living the dream.

Oozing self-confidence, Bella is extremely serious about being authentic.

“You have to be real,” she says, “You need to be an approachable, relatable woman, in this competition and in life.”

Furthermore, Bella mentions that she needs a sponsor from a business or individual for the glamorous round of the pageant at Emperors Palace on 28 April. On this nail-biting evening, interviews count for 70 % of the overall score of each woman, whilst their modelling of swimwear counts 30 %. Tickets cost R950 per person and Bella needs to sell 10 tickets.
