Armand performs

There is no terrein too tough for this young adrenaline-junkie off-road racer.

He recently rode Round 1 and 2 of the T-Bone Racing Junior Enduro series in Robertson and Bonnievale respectively. In the first round he achieved a fifth place in the 85cc class. In the second round he obtained a second place in the high school class.

Round 1 took place in Robertson on Saturday where Armand started in the fourth row with 24 other entrants in the 85cc class. “I battled to find my rhythm on the fast track with my Enduro setup,” he says, “But I worked my way to finish fifth.” Round 2 took place in Bonnievale on Sunday and started with 22 riders. Armand started in the third row and had an awesome first lap with the top four being on top of each other. Unfortunately he had a prolonged pit stop due to a bent gear lever and a water leak. “I finally went out on my second lap trying to make up time lost in the pits,” says this confident teenager, “but halfway into the second lap my bike started loosing power and I had to retire due to engine failure.” Armand says that his father came to the rescue and towed him back to the pits with his bike. “I still had some baaaaarp left in me and was burning to race some more.” With the permission of the organizers Armand was allowed to race in the high school class. Under huge pressure and time constraints Armand’s old practice bike was prepared to be race ready. “The route was more technical but I absolutely loved it. I managed to obtain a second place finishing in the high school class.”
