Blue light gang back on the road

“Three armed men in a white Volkswagen Polo with blue lights tried to force a double cab bakkie off the Pelindaba road between Necsa gate 1 and 3 last Wednesday. Two of the men in the Volkswagen Polo aimed firearms at the two young men in the bakkie. However, the driver of the bakkie managed to force the Volkswagen Polo off the road instead and they fled in the Pretoria direction,” said Romano van der Spuy, spokesperson for the Hartbeespoort community policing forum.

“The police are asking that motorists please be careful and that should anyone see a Volkswagen Polo matching this description, to report it to the police immediately.”

A gang of robbers, possibly the same vehicle, and other unmarked vehicles with blue lights, terrorised motorists on the N4 highway, the R512 toward Lanceria and other major routes into Hartbeespoort in 2015 and 2016. The suspects shot at several victims and their vehicles. They are to be considered armed and very dangerous.
