Blue light gang hits again but lose their car

Three armed men in a white Volkswagen Polo Classic attempted to hijack a Kia pick-up with two people on Van der Hoff road near Sunway at 05:20. The driver of the Kia managed to bumped the Volkswagen Polo off the road at the Sunway settlement.
“The three armed suspects jumped out and ran. At the same time a Hartbeespoort resident in a white Nissan bakkie stopped at the scene presuming it was an accident. The suspects jumped onto the back of the bakkie and ordered the driver at gunpoint to drive in the direction of Ten Rooms. The driver of the Nissan was ordered out of the bakkie after approximately 1 km whereafter the three suspects fled in the bakkie,” said Romano van der Spuy, spokesperson for the Hartbeespoort community policing forum.
The victim contacted his tracker company and the vehicle was later recovered in Atteridgeville without the suspects. The Hartbeespoort police are currently following all leads.
The so-called blue light gang has been active in the Hartbeespoort area for the past two years.

Presumably the same suspects and vehicle tried to force a double cab bakkie off the Pelindaba road between Necsa gate 1 and 3 last week. Two of the men in the Volkswagen Polo aimed firearms at the two young men in the bakkie. However, the driver of the bakkie managed to force the Volkswagen Polo off the road instead and they fled in the Pretoria direction.
The police have asked motorists to be careful. The robbers are considered to be armed and very dangerous.
