Suddenly a white BMW swerved into our lane and started shooting at the truck. Another vehicle appeared and tried to block us off, shooting at us. We heard an explosion but managed to turn around and drive away,” Jandre Grimbeek told the Kormorant. “The BMW was full of people and they were shooting wildly. I have never seen anything like it in my life.”
De Wildt resident Elanie van der Merwe also got caught in the crossfire but was unharmed. “I was on my way to Brits and suddenly a truck tried to make a U-turn in front of me. I swerved and a white BMW came at a speed from ahead, firing shots. I veered off the road and was luckily not hit,” a shaken Elanie said.
