When she was given the chance to address the court in a plea for bail, she said she wanted to tell the court that “accused two, four, five, six and seven…” at which her attorney, Pontsho Rakane, jumped up and objected.
Prosecutor Christine Molautsi wanted to know why, upon which he replied that his client was not saying what they had discussed. “So you want to tell the court your client is only allowed to say what you want her to say and not what she wants to?” Molautsi asked.

The 18-year-old girl told the court that the police had promised to “take her out of the case” if she confirmed what they said. “They (the police) said the women were raped in the container. They (the police) said they had them by the river and the car was burnt out,” the girl told the court.
She is the girlfriend of accused number six, the 29-year-old son of the so-called mastermind behind the disappearance of Anisha (30) and Joey (32) van Niekerk.
The girl had been living with the son, his father and his wife, also an accused, for the past two years. She has an alternative address in Kroondal with her grandmother for “when there are problems in me and my boyfriend’s relationship.”
She left school in Grade 10, is unemployed and dependent on her boyfriend. She will plead not guilty to the charges of conspiracy to commit murder, kidnapping, rape, murde
