Between the publication’s being reported and the Press Council making a finding in the matter, another opinion piece was published:

Kormorant has appealed the finding, but the Press Council has denied the publication the opportunity to continue with this process.
Although the publication is currently processing the order and planning the way forward, editor Deon van Huizen is able to confirm the following regarding the development intended by Mathibedi Holdings on the Hartbeespoort Dam shorefront:
- In terms of the National Environmental Management Act, an environmental impact assessment was to precede the erection of a fence such as the fence erected around the property in question. Kormorant received no indication that this has been done, despite efforts to confirm same.
In is in light of the consequential presumed illegality of the actions taken on the property in question that the above opinion pieces were written.
