Man and domestic worker held at gunpoint in Meerhof house robbery

“The three suspects jumped over a wall of premises in Oxford Road in Meerhof around 13:15 and confronted the house owner, threatening him with a revolver and telling him to keep quiet,” said Romano van der Spuy, chairman of the Hartbeespoort community policing forum.
“The robbers also grabbed the domestic worker and tied both up with cable ties. The suspects stole a laptop, cellphone, two television sets, jewellery and other items before fleeing the scene. Neither of the two victims were injured, however both are traumatised,” Van der Spuy said.
The suspects opened the gate with the owner’s gate remote control. “Although the owner heard the suspects speeding off, he could not say what vehicle they were driving. He managed to free himself and summoned help. Security and Police were quickly on the scene.”
The Hartbeespoort police are investigating an armed house robbery case.
