The Police in Hartbeespoort, in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies arrested 69 suspects on Wednesday, 4 August 2021 for various Disaster Management Act Regulations related offences.

This includes 59 arrests for being in public without wearing masks. “Others were fined for sale and dispensing of liquor, as well as contravening the Road Traffic Act,” said police spokesperson Maria Nkabinde.
The arrests were made during a police operation aimed at enforcing the Adjusted Level 3 Disaster Management Act regulations, as well as crime prevention measures.
The station commander of Hartbeespoort police, Colonel Willem Robbertse, thanked the law enforcement officials for their hard work that led to the arrests. He urged members of the community to voluntarily comply with the regulations and COVID-19 health and safety protocols to minimise the spread of the virus.
