Two suspected robbers, who might be linked to a number of armed robberies in and around Brits, were caught by a security company after a car chase on Sunday.
The Tactical K9 security services received information on Sunday that armed robbers were driving on the R511 in the direction of Brits and reaction officers were deployed to look out for the vehicle.
“The vehicle was spotted and when the suspects saw the security vehicle, they sped away. A chase ensued and the reaction officers managed to force the suspects off the road near Rashoop,” said Chris Degenaar of Tactical K9. Two men were arrested and handed over to the police. Degenaar said stolen goods were found in the vehicle.
It is suspected that the two suspects might be linked to other armed robberies in the area.
