An automated bank teller at the Bokfontein fuel station was bombed last week after three robbers held employees at the fuel station at gunpoint.
According to Johan du Toit of Protego Security, they received a call just before 18:00 about the bombing. “According to security footage, three men, armed with 9 mm firearms entered the fuel station on foot, held the employees up while they used explosives to blast the ATM open. They fled with an undisclosed amount of money on foot, he said.
Police, Afriforum neighbourhood watch members and security companies worked together to block off roads and look for the suspects, but they got away. No arrests have been made.
