Amid inside information that Madibeng once again owes Eskom more than R40 million the High Court threw a lifeline to the industrial area in Brits ordering the electricity supply company not to cut the power supply to local factories.

Electricity supply to the Madibeng municipal area will be cut by Eskom early in January if Madibeng does not pay its outstanding account of over R90 million.
All the votes for Madibeng have been counted and the final results were release at 13:00 on Friday.
Vote counting at the Independent Election Commission centre in Pretoria slowed down at 09:00 on Friday morning in order to give their staff a break before the last few votes will be counted this afternoon.
