Communities in Hartbeespoort and Brits have expressed their gratitude the past week to all security structures and the taxi associations that pledged to keep the area safe from riots and looting.
The various taxi associations joined forces with local community policing forums, security companies and other structures to protect malls and general infrastructure in both Brits and Harties.
To express their gratitude businesses and community members donated food, cold drinks and water which were distributed among those keeping the towns and community safe.
McDonald’s Hartbeespoort and Brits donated 100 Big Mac meals to the taxi volunteers acknowledging and commending them for protecting their communities. All Over Connection in Brits sponsored gloves and caps for the taxi drivers.
