Almost 700 new infections have been recorded on Tuesday 12 May.
The number of cases of people infected with Covid-19 in the country has increased by 698 to 11 350.
This was announced by Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize on Tuesday.
The Western Cape accounted for 484 of the new infections, followed by Eastern Cape with 148 cases.
Gauteng recorded 48 new cases, Kwa-Zulu Natal at 22 and North West 1.
A total of 369 697 tests has been conducted with 13 630 being done in the past 24 hours.
The number of people who have recovered was recorded at 4 357, while the number of deaths remained at 206.
