A cyclist was held at gunpoint in Hartbeespoort on Tuesday and robbed of his bicycle and riding gear.

The cyclist was riding along the R560 near Leloko Estate in daytime when a bakkie with three suspects stopped. “The men got out, pointed a firearm at the cyclist and forced him to hand over his bicycle, shoes and helmet before speeding off,” said Romano van der Spuy, spokesperson for the Hartbeespoort community policing forum. The Hartbeespoort police are investigating an armed robbery case.
