Greg Talbot and Mias van der Walt

Eight Hartbeespoort Cycling Club cyclists took part at the Prudential PE Plett race from 6 to 9 February in Port Elizabeth.

The cyclists started the tough 4-day mountain bike stage races on Thursday 6 February in heavy rain conditions and ended on Sunday 9 February through the coastal cities of Plettenberg Bay and Port Elizabeth.

Greg Talbot and Mias van der Walt won second podium spot in the master’s category, while Louis de Waal and Wim van der End took third podium place in the same category.

Herman du Preez, Henk Barnard, Ronell Talbot and Marti van der Walt from the cycling club also took part in the race.

The Prudential PE Plett race sees riders weave their way along the Otter trail, the indigenous forests of SA Parks, MTO Forestry and the dairy-rich farms of Tsitsikamma.

The beautiful route, vibey race villages, free beer and wine, Wi-Fi, yoga classes, massages and luxury tents are what bring riders back each year.
