A visit to a school in an informal settlement made Hartbeespoort ward councillor and attorney Maritza du Plessis realise the big need for basic stationery amongst children in these settlements.
“These children appreciate even the most basic items and this realisation led to a drive to collect even used stationery to provide needy children in and around Hartbeespoort with these crucial tools used in school,” she says.
Martiza du Plessis Attorneys and PNA in Village Mall have now launched the Pay it Forward campaign where the community can donate used and new school stationery to these learners. If you have still usable used stationery like pens, pencils, scissors, books, rubbers, or anything used in school, please donate at the bins placed at the door of PNA. Or, consider dropping a new item into the bins. Even a small purchase can make a big difference in a child’s life.
