Police in Brits arrested two drug dealers in the parking lot of a grocery store on Friday and confiscated drugs and almost R60 000 cash.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Sam Tselanyane, the police acted on information on Friday, 17 April, shortly before 13:00, and swooped on the two suspects parked at a grocery store in Brits.

“Upon arrival at the scene, the police found two suspects in a maroon Volkswagen microbus. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of drugs and a large sum of money. The two men were arrested. Police conducted another search at the suspects’ residential place in Oukasie where 71 pinches of nyaope, 22 live rounds of ammunition and more cash were found,” he said.

The two suspects, aged 30 and 35, appeared in the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 20 April 2020. The police investigation continues.
