A medical centre in Hartbeespoort confirmed on Monday morning that the town’s first person has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.

The Hartbeespoort Medical Centre confirmed to Kormorant that a patient was tested positive for the virus at the centre. Protocol, as previously announced by the centre, was followed and the patient was isolated.
“We urge the Hartbeespoort community to be on the alert and follow all protective measures against the virus,” a spokesperson for the medical centre said.

Medical practitioners in Hartbeespoort have requested that Hartbeespoort residents take
heed of the following when they suspect they might have Covid-19 symptoms:
Do not put your medical practitioner and staff in danger by arriving at the practice
unannounced. Phone to make an appointment and when you arrive, phone to alert the
doctor or staff. In most cases the doctor will come outside to the vehicle or take you to an
isolated area.
The Hartbeespoort Medical Centre has provided these guidelines:
If you suspect that you might have been infected with the virus, displaying symptoms of
sore throat, fever higher than 38 Degree Celcius, shivers, coughing and have been in
contact with a confirmed case:
1. Please phone the centre on 012-2591255 / 2591313 / 2591933
2. Mention to the reception that you might have been infected.
3. On arrival at your given appointment time, please stay
in your vehicle and phone in to notify that you have arrived.
4. As soon as the doctor is ready to tend to you, you will be
requested to enter via the Ambulance door and be held in
isolation. Do not touch anything!
5. You will be requested to keep your face covered by means
of a facial mask if you have one, or any other form of facial
coverage.
The doctor will then tend to you as a matter of urgency.
