Fleeing armed robbers intercepted at Brits, one wounded

Three fleeing armed robbers were intercepted by security officers near Brits on Monday morning and one was wounded during a resulting shootout.

“We received information that three armed suspects were fleeing in the direction of Brits after committing an armed robbery at a clothing store in Bela Bela around 08:00 on Monday morning. Shortly before 10:00 our security officers spotted the suspects on the R511 at Klipkop near Brits,” said Quintin Dunn of PPS Security. “A chase ensued and shots were fired. One of the suspects was wounded. They were forced off the road and were arrested and handed over to the police.”
