Hartbeespoort sea scout wins World’s Toughest Row

Marc Germiquet (51), a former sea scout of the 22nd Sea Scouts in Kosmos, recently won the the World’s Toughest Row, the “Solar” competition a transatlantic race covering approximately 3,000 miles from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to English Harbour in Antigua. He completed the row in 43 days, 7 hours, and 21 minutes, securing first place among solo rowers.
Gemiquet left La Gomera on 11 December and used the competition to raise the much-needed funds for the Bush Ways Foundation who are investing in educational projects in northern Botswana.
Marc was a member of the Sea Scouts at Kosmos for six years here and during this time he mastered the skill of rowing, sailing and canoeing.
