The North West Department of Health MEC Madoda Sambatha will be visiting Madibeng on Thursday to ensure compliance to COVID-9 regulations in the district.

This follows after a drastic increase in COVID-19 cases in the area.
Sambatha has been visiting COVID-19 hotspots in North West the past week during awareness and compliance campaigns.

“The South African Police Services are part of these campaigns and as has been the case with other towns, any non-compliant entity will be ordered to close its business to ensure prevention of the spread of the coronavirus,” said spokesperson for the health department, Tebogo Lekgwetane.

The campaign starts in the Brits business district on Thursday at 09:00 and will move to shopping centres and other locations, as well as the Sibanye mine.
