Police arrested a 33-year-old man who allegedly stabbed a man to death at a tuckshop in Hebron near Brits on Sunday, 4 October.

Tsegaye Berhanu Hepamo (33) was arrested after the deceased, David Chimane Komane (37) managed to tell people who came to his assistance, who had stabbed him before he succumbed to his injuries.

According police spokesperson, Maria Nkabinde, Komane was allegedly fatally attacked by the suspect after an alleged argument between the two men at a tuckshop.

Hepamo stabbed Komane in the abdomen. “Despite his severe injuries, the victim managed to walk to the street where he was spotted by people and they assisted him in contacting his family. The victim allegedly informed them about the incident and name of the suspect.

He was transported to the local hospital by his family but succumbed to his injuries and passed away on Tuesday, 6 October 2020,” Nkabinde said.

Hepamo appeared in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrates’ Court on a charge of murder and case was postponed to 20 October 2020 for formal bail application. He remain in custody.
