Two Madibeng artists are creating a stir in the arts and culture world and have both been nominated for the North West’s Provincial Art and Culture Recognition Awards (PACRA).

Kopano Molokoane from Oukasie was nominated for the Film and Video Award. Kopano has been a film and television producer since 2000. He received his diploma in film and television production from Cape Town Film School and has produced a number of films for Mzanzi Magic channel. He created and directed the reality TV show “I BLEW IT” for Mzanzi Wethu and “Ingane Yam” for Mzanzi Magic. He is currently doing season 2 of “Ingane Yam” and season 4 of “I BLEW IT”.
Kopano’s two latest commissions for Mzanzi Magic are “Iphela Lase Voslo” and “Bafana ba Bruno”. He has directed a number of music videos and also created and directed documentaries for government departments. He also facilitated training in directing, camera works and editing for SEDA incubation and Bojanala Film Weeks in the North West Province. He enjoys creating and developing projects that make a lasting difference in people’s lives.
Simphiwe Ramookho from Maboloka has been nominated for the Impact Award. He is the 2019 award winner for Best Artist in Support of Disability (Sibahle National Disability Project). With his mission and vision of developing and sustaining the spirit of creative arts, he has successfully kept youth off the streets. As a leader of Revolutions Art Production Motswala, he has managed to reach and help many young people in Maboloka and neighbouring areas, working with other stakeholders to create a platform for young artists to grow. Simphiwe established Maboloka Art Production Forum with the aim of uniting local art groups. He assists in organising and mobilising events of the Department of Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation, Bofunesa Orphanage and Sibahle National Disability Project.
