Newly elected ANC provincial chairperson, Nono Maloyi, said Madibeng municipal councillors were instructed not to collude with opposition parties to remove ANC mayors.

Maloyi addressed the ANC’s first Provincial Executive Committee meeting last weekend and said no North West ANC member will be allowed to ignore party instructions.
He said mayors who were deployed by the ANC must be in office. Those not deployed by the ANC “must get out”. This includes positions like the Speaker “and so on”. “The ANC won’t hesitate to take action against those who defy the party’s orders.”
One of the resolutions of the Provincial Executive Committee is to stabilise municipal governance.
